GADA DEV RAKHANDAR    GADA DEV  temple is situated at Ponda Dhavali Mardangad, As per the local people they say that the temple was built over 300-400 years back, People call him Rakhandar(protector) of Mardangad because he protects surrounding villages like Dhavli, Tiskar, Baitechol, katyani and Kapleshwari. The vehicle of rakhandar is horse and he acts like a horse as he never sleeps and always stands to protect and safeguard his devotees, whenever the devotees recalls or remember him in their need.  Devotees believes that offering him with ghaat (bell), keli( banana), vidi (cigar), gudi(flag), kamal (cloth fabric) will complete their wishes and no obstacles will come in their word or business. In shravan month Jatra( festival) of gadadev begins and lot of activities and functions are held and everyday of festival mahaprasad (food) is provided to devotees.

 Rakhandar . In Goan folklore, a "Rakhandar" or "Rakhno" is a protective spirit believed to guard villages, fields, and crossroads, often depicted as a giant wearing a white dhoti with a bamboo stick. They are seen as protectors against evil spirits and are offered local items like roosters, liquor, and beedis.  There the announcement made us lot proud about the work we were heading towards , it already gave us great experience since first day when we started the proceedings of work with our team . We were 5 members heading towards this project , we had divided the work into 5 parts where gathering information, making up script , shooting the video , editing the video and adding the correct information to the dst.  We started with the work very prior to the submission date . GADA DEV    Rakhandar Rakhandar means a protector or guardian. Who protect the village and villagers. People believe that Rakhandar is protector God who takes care of a place, like a village, temple, or peoples of village  Many villages in Goa have a Rakhandar, and people pray to him for safety and good luck.   Zareshwar Maharaja  From thousands of years ago being famous "Zari cho Dev " our Zareshwar Maharaja. Temple of this saviour is situated at Ponda Bazar, behind Police Station. Zareshwar Maharaja takes a round every mid-night into his premises and protect entire of his devotees and villages.
